The Valdez Museum serves as vital community resources that provide gathering places where thoughtful exhibits and educational opportunities co-exist, bringing communities together to learn, to play, and to delight in.

Join us for "Fish On!" Roadhouse

This year we are celebrating over seventy years of fish derbies here in Valdez with the theme Fish On! Roadhouse. While different people and groups have been credited with starting the derby, we are honoring the Valdez Fish Derbies for all their work promoting Valdez and bringing tourist from around the world to catch the big one.

We envision a scaled down, intimate evening that features a sit-down dinner, live entertainment, and a live auction. This new hybrid event harkens back to earlier Roadhouse Dinners where guests enjoyed food, fun and old-fashioned comedy skits! 

Matthew Kress, from Serendipity Supper Club, has come up with a delicious menu, served family style. 

Soup

Curry roasted coconut squash (vegetarian and dairy free base)

Salad

Spinach and arugula salad with a lemon and sage vinaigrette, toasted pecans, cherries, and crispy shallots 

Entrée

Surf and turf platters of BBQed brisket and assorted Alaskan seafood (rockfish, salmon, halibut, and scallops) with dueling sauces - lemon beurre blanc and bourbon mango BBQ

 Smashed potatoes 

 Roasted vegetables 

 We will also have BBQed tofu available for anyone vegetarian.
